Guests often praise

  • Friendly, attentive, and personalized service from staff members across the resort.
  • Beautiful location with great beach access and scenic ocean views from rooms and pool areas.
  • Clean and spacious rooms offering comfortable accommodations at a competitive price.
  • Variety of quality dining options without the need for reservations, including standout Japanese and buffet meals.
  • Well-maintained facilities such as the gym, spa, and pools with swim-up bar and jacuzzi amenities.

Worth knowing

  • The resort does not include amenities like breakfast, parking, or airport shuttle service—some extras require additional payment.
  • Poolside lounges can be hard to secure without early reservation (often before 6 a.m.).
  • Some guests noted dated aspects in the facility such as rust on elevator doors and small maintenance issues.
  • Limited in-room entertainment options and occasional app interface glitches for room service ordering.
  • Tap water is not recommended for drinking; bottled water should be used for consumption and coffee preparation.

Best for

  • Couples and mature travelers seeking a relaxed, intimate all-inclusive beach resort experience.
  • Guests who appreciate personalized service and a quieter atmosphere, especially on weekdays and evenings.
  • Visitors who want easy access to nearby attractions like dolphin beaches and Mayan archaeological sites.
  • Those looking for a resort with good dining variety and easy walkability to additional local restaurants.
  • Travelers comfortable with a property offering well-kept basics rather than luxury or extensive kid-friendly facilities.

My 94 year old father, my partner and myself just returned from a three week stay at Oleo Hotel Resort in Cancun. We were so happy there. The staff was Wonderful. They made my father feel special by knowing his name and calling him often by name. "Frank, Frank". We appreciate Francesco, Daniella, Stella, Iliana, Jose, Mon Ami at the bar, Kevin the Assistant manager, also Fernandu, Marco and Alexa. These were the only names we learned but all staff were friendly and made us feel special. The housekeeping staff were very efficient. The restaurants had very good food and we didn't need reservations. The staff also was very efficient. We loved the ramps for my dad to get around easily. At the pool there was glass so that on a lounger you could watch the ocean or the pool as you wished. My dad enjoyed the gym as we did as well. We enjoyed the entertainment!!! We enjoyed a Wonderful vacation at Oleo and Thank you to all those that made our time there enjoyable!!!!

This hotel offers a truly stunning location with a lovely beach and great views. The entire property was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The dining was great. Breakfast omelettes and quesadillas were delicious. The buffet's Mexican night was absolutely amazing. Lunch was also very good, always included something freshly made (burgers, hot dogs). Plus, the coffee in the cafe was great! We were so lucky to see the dolphins in the sea while having a breakfast!

Nice condo building. Convenient location. Great view of ocean and lagoon from our room. No laundry service and you can’t drink the water from the sink so we used bottled water for brushing our teeth and making coffee. Small but effective gym. We worked out every day. There is a tennis court with pickle ball lines. We didn’t pay for the all inclusive plan because the restaurant buffet was unimpressive. The bracelets were $95 per person per day. There are three restaurants within easy walking distance (across the highway) and an OXXO convenience store.

My first time in mexico and my first time at an all inclusive. These guys were amazing! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, the rooms were amazing! I definitely will be back! Dj Rambo made the days so much more fun! All of the bar staff made me feel like family. All of the serving restaurant staff made me feel like family. I genuinely hope every person I encountered is there when I come back. Because I will be back for them!

All the staff are really sweet and attentive at Oleo and since it's a smaller resort you end up getting to know them by the end of the stay. I didn't mention my birthday, but they did bring me a cake anyways. 24/7 room service was nice, though the app interface could be better. There are some services on the resort you have to pay extra for though, which is fine just make sure you clarify prices before you sign up for anything. Super walkable resort and weekdays and nights aren't too busy so I was able to get some alone time at the beach. Only a few things I think could make the resort even better, adding more streaming services/in room entertainment, and the pool bar to be open later. Also didn't have a tissue box in my room, but my fridge was always stocked with water and drinks. Overall, very nice stay, especially for what I wanted which was a carefree solo getaway from the city.

Oleo was a great resort to stay. The room we stayed was more spacious than expensive resorts so price wise, I was happy. The buffet food was good and both restaurants were great but I liked the Japanese/asian one was better than Mediterranean one. The lady from the cafe made a really delicious caramel mocciato that was way better than Starbucks. All staff were calm and friendly. The location of the resort is close to the airport but does not provide a shuttle bus so we called Uber which costed us less than $20usd. P.S We used a taxi service at the airport and it was a ripped off. The taxi company at the airport charged us $120usd.

It was our first time traveling internationally, so I was very nervous & stressed about a number of things. However, the hotel was incredibly supportive & offered great service. They helped us plan all of our day trip’s & transportation which was super easy. I seen a lot of reviews complaining about the food, but I was really happy with the options. I would not recommend this hotel for children, as it isnt necessarily geared towards them and they disrupted our stay a bit. The rooms were clean & our view from the 9th floor King Suit 180 was incredible. I loved the spa although it was a bit overpriced similar to the gift shop. The gym is small and limited, but very clean. The beach was wonderful, minimal seaweed. The pools were great, swim up bar & jacuzzi. I would recommend waking up early to snag a pool chair because they go fast. Very diverse and welcoming environment, I can tell the staff enjoy their jobs & are good at them. Id recommend this hotel to older families & couples, its a quaint & relaxing experience.

This place isn't perfect, but earned a five-star review by avoiding most of the common pain points and all-inclusive resorts. Pros: - Good variety of a la carte restaurants where reservations are not required, which is a rare bonus. - Waiter service to pool chairs is also a good differentiator from other all inclusives - 24-Hour included room service is a big plus: really keeps the spirit of an all-inclusive where you don't have to worry about anything - Clean, if slightly dated rooms and facility, with inobtrusive but less than frequent housekeeping - Friendly but not particularly fast service - Choices among pools that include cold, a little warmer, and slightly warm hot tub - Most importantly, big speaker noise is isolated to one pool rather than blast across all pools Cons: - The only real pain point that I noticed, which was minor for me, was the sunbed dash. Typically you would have to get up by about 6:00 a.m. in order to reserve a good poolside lounge - The entire facility was slightly dated for a 10-year-old building, including flecks on the bathroom mirror, and rust on the elevator doors, but this didn't really affect the quality of service Overall, the best all-inclusive that we've been to in probably 10 years.
